For the last few weeks, I’ve been working with Cravins Adventure Lunches in Bozeman, Montana to help them with their Spring 2020 marketing campaign to create business portraits and on-location product lifestyle photographs.

This local, family-owned sandwich shop caterers much of their business to creating delicious lunch options (organized and packed in biodegradable containers) for all the hardworking fly fishing guides and their clients.

Back in early March, when the pandemic shut down the state and local fishing economy, this business took the initiative to use the social distancing time to elevate their brand by redesigning its website and creating new marketing content to better reflect and resonate with the clientele they serve.

As part of that process, they hired me to create storytelling lifestyle photos of both anglers enjoying their product on the river and to create clean, well-lit photographs of their featured food offerings for their website and marketing outlets.

I love commercial photography assignments like this because they allow me to do what I do best – telling stories with photographs to foster connection and to solve many different types of visual challenges that ultimately will allow my business clients to resonate with their target audience.

I spent a lot of time listening and understanding the needs of Cravins to help them make the best business portraits and on-location product lifestyle photographs possible.

Working together, we were able to clearly identify how best to convey their brand and message and split over two days – one in their commercial kitchen and the other on the Lower Madison River – I was able to give them a variety of creative visual options.

Early Spring in Montana forced us to reschedule our on-location session on the Madison River a few times but ultimately we found a weather window that was agreeable.
