Big Sky Family ballgown portraits
Last week, I had so much fun creating Big Sky Family ballgown portraits for the Jones family during their vacation to Big Sky, Montana.
I love it when a client comes to me with a unique photo idea for their session. The Jones family lives in Georgia. During their recent Montana family vacation, the ladies of the family concocted an idea. Ashley (a professional barrel racer), Sloan, Alexis, & Dawn wanted to highlight their favorite ball gown dresses. We ended up creating Big Sky Family ballgown portraits in the snow. As a bonus, Alexis, in red, wanted a maternity photo session with her husband. The two are expecting their first child.
I loved the idea. We decided to explore snowy spots along the Gallatin River just north of Big Sky, Montana. The idea was to make interesting and elligant winter environmental fashion portraits in the dramatic canyon landscape. These ladies had style. I loved the enthusiasm and positive attitudes each one brought to our chilly January photo session. The negative space of the fresh snowfall on the river scene created a really cool environment to play in.
